Morning,

I bought a '92 Gsxr 750, with a flat battery as it hadn't been ridden for months. The owner gave me a new battery.

Stopped for petrol on the way home and it wouldn't jump start off a car like it did 15 mins previously. Sat about waiting for hours, then bought RAC cover.

RAC guy came along and bypassed the alarm (i think) and it started and ran great.

Have put the new battery on and now i'm getting nothing.

Does anyone know how to disable the inbuilt immobiliser as it's cutting out the ignition circuit? Or to take the whole alarm off?

Thanks,

Ben

I've removed about 30 alarms so far, mainly because they fail and take the bike down with them.

On most alarms, you will only need to remove two links to get the bike running, the CDI ignition splice and the starter motor current drain. Firstly, depending on how well the alarm is fitted, look at the wiring to the CDI, you will find that one of the wires is cut and two of the black alarm wires are joined to eiterh cut end. Remove these wires and rejoin the original. Then look at your starter relay, is there a single wire going to the relay? If so, remove this wire and wrap the end in tape.

You should now have a running bike, if you want the alarm completely removed, let me know, I should be able to put the bike back to original condition in an hour or so, if you're ever in the Southampton area that is.

Cheers

Grim

Thank you!

I'll try that tonight as soon as I get home. With any luck I will have a running bike.

Had blown the fuse on the starter solenoid!

Now works perfectly.
