I never really got the whole Evel Kneivel thing: he very rarely landed any of his jumps, and tended to nigh-on cripple himself every time. Plus, he was the most self-absorbed berk this side of modern rappers.
Not a popular view, I know, but that's how I see him, I'm afraid.
