right, so start off with.
a few days ago, my bike was running perfect, well, perhaps running a little bit hot but nothing too bad, just a little hotter than what it was over the winter, but as I bought it just before winter, Im guessing the cold air was helping to keep it cool.
anyway, I went out on a long ride round leatherhear area and I have to admit, was being a bit ruthless with it as there are some really good roads around there.
anyway, When I was cleaning it, I took all the fairings off, cleaned inside and outside the fairings, then all under them too.
I forgot to tighted the top black bit of the chain guard up properly and it come loose and got wedged somewere near the front sprocket and on the wheel.
I wasnt really thinking right as I was just trying to limp my bike home as it was down on power and was making a funny noise, but I know now what was causing it.
I didnt realise what it was at the time but when I got home I found out and took it out.
anyway, now I've taken it out from being wedged, my bike seems to be overheating a bit and has lost a little bit of top end power.
could the top end power loss be down to the fact that the engine was having to work that extra bit more as the plasic chain guard was wedged on the wheel slowing it down?
as for the oveheating, I've heard that it could be a precurser to a seize? what would cause a seize? other than no 2 stroke oil or the oil pump kicking out too much oil OR the rings have gone? |
