Anyone into their RC cars?

It's been a while since I've bothered with anything Radio controlled. I think my Thunder tiger car has sat in the shed unused for about 8 years

I'm looking to get back into the stuff though now, just not with my current crap. I'm kind of tempted by the RC crawler type stuff and would be even more tempted by a land rover type car. But all that I can find when searching on youtube are customs. Like I say it's been a while and I wouldn't know where to start off the shelf let alone where to start building a custom.

Anyone in the know with any advice?
