Best bet is to try and find someone local that you can borrow a bike from and have a play around at a quiet time on a track.

Can you just confirm you know what motocross is in relation to other types of off-road sport? Some people group them all under the same banner.
I rode my first 'proper' motocross track today - a bit scary to start with, but fun when you get into it.

Personally, i just want to go out, get muddy. try a few things i maybe wouldn't do other wise and push myself.
Im only 17 at the moment, but i spend most of my time working and i need something to actually get some excitement back in my life.

I've recently started up MX myself, if all you want to do is get muddy round a field, then I think you have the wrong sport ... MX (if you do it properly) is all about big jumps and big speed (for offroad)!

I'm evidently a right wuss as MX frightens the willys out of me!! Embarassed Very Happy Its deffo not a sport you can go half-4ssed at!! ... all or nothing for sure!!! Shocked (I'm going tomorrow as it happens Thumbs Up).

As G said, I am not sure if you are using MX as a blanket term?

Trail riding is probably more suited to what you are after??

There are plenty of off road experience places about these days, perhaps pop along to your nearest one and give a few different style bikes a go before committing to a type of bike??

Either TonyMoto or Cusses Gorse (not decided yet - need to give a ring to check both/either are open first too).

I actually favoured going to Cusses Gorse as I have been to TonyMoto the last 2 times and want to mix it up a bit ....

Just phones CG and they are not sure if they are going to be open tomorrow (have to phone in the AM) ....
