I've just had my K5 gixer in for its 1st MOT (which it passed, yay!!).

But,

I discovered i'd ridden it for 4 months without an MOT - whoops!!

I never drive/ride without being 'legal', but somehow i'd managed to convince myself that the bike was due for the 1st MOT in Nov 08, when in fact it was due for testing in Aug 08!

Today i'm giving thanks and praise to the sweet baby jesus that i didn't get a tug, a ticket or a producer in the 4 months that i was riding around MOTless.

Embarassed

What did cheese me off though was that i had the MOT at noon, picked the bike back up at 12.30 and went off to tax it - only to discover that all the PO's around my way close at 12 or 12.30 on a Saturday!
So, i couldn't enjoy the lovely weather today, and could only ride it home from the MOT station (which is about 20 miles from my house, so i did get to blow away a few cobwebs).

EDIT: I'm a twat, it's official! I did know the MOT was due in August as this thread proves. Where the fuck did i get November from? Another lucky escape for the boy gixer!

Same happened to me this year.
End of Feb kept thinking "Must be MOT soon, better check". Any way, 2 weeks ago finally bothered to find MOT Certificate and actually ran out start of December!!! Still not believing this I found some emails I'd sent my mate who put deposit on the bike for me, and sure enuff all dated December.
Luckily I got tax online whilst MOT still valid. guess Rozzas dont check bikes on the road as much as cars, or just been lucky.
See if I remember next year now Very Happy

tax it online.

MOT should show up in the database fairly quickly if you are lucky.

I personally wouldnt worry about not displaying the tax disc, as long as you tax it online i'm sure you'd get away with it if you got pulled.

You now get a grace period, when applying online.
Just remember you should still apply in time so you have the disk before the 1st.....

Might just get some job's worth who decides to get you carted away as no valid tax on display, and you then have the pound fee to pay Embarassed

Can't tax it online due to having no funds in my current account (until Monday) - don't/won't have a credit card, have got the cash to do it at a PO, but they won't be open till Monday now anyway.
