Yes, it's the start of that time again. Lidl's bike stuff is back at Lidl's a week tomorrow (16th of March) you'll probably need to wait till tomorrow for it to be on the website though.

- Motorcycle jacket £58.71
- " trousers £48.92
- Flip Front Helmet £39.99
- Jet helmet (open face) £22.99
- Motorcycle Gloves £12.71
- Kidney Belt £3.90
- Rain Suit £12.71
- High-vis belt £5.99
- Motorcycle boots £29.99
- Rain overshoes £7.99
- Thermals:
- Long sleeved top £12.71
- Long johns £8.79
- Motorcycle socks £2.92
- Bike-to-bike radio £24.45 (per set - one set per rider)
- Rider-pillion headsets £7.82
- Battery charger £4.88
- Magnetic tank bag £18.58
- First air bag £2.92
- Motorcycle cover £6.99
- Disc lock with alarm £9.77

that's everything. also worth knowing, at the moment they have waterproof spray for leather and textiles for £1.99. i bought some, not used it yet though so dont know how good it is.

i have a few questions too - any one have the jacket, is it any good?
the rain oversuit - how can i work out what size i need, in most clothes im small or medium. but that goes over bike gear - should i get a large or just go for the XL cos i want it for over my leathers?

just a heads up again.
Calum.

I have the rain suit and it's fantastic. Never let a drop in and it's somewhat comfortable.

It's like a pair of chest high trousers with a jacket on the outside merged into one. No water can get in the zip and dampen the crotch at all.

If you're a medium (42UK or 52EUR) in Leathers, a Large should do you. Try one on.

thanks for the review on it, i just want to use it for going ot france this year - means i can take leathers and know that in serious rain i can stay dry - dont want to pay £40 though, so this one seems better.

i'll try and go up in the night and try one on i think, that way i can take the bike stuff and see how it fits over it.

Had the bag about a year and a half now, still going strong.

Would recommend it.

Tank bag, kidney belt and battery charger are great. Wouldn't waste the money on the cheap intercom though.

The trousers are awesome. I wish I had know this was coming round I just bought a new pair of textile bike trousers after my old lidl ones got tired. I had them 3 years and the only problem was the lining was ripped in them they where still waterproof after 3 years heavy use.

Gloves, socks and battery charger that I got last year are well used and still going strong. Thumbs Up Good bits of kit.

Some of the other stuff seems a bit overpriced though, or not really very good quality.

Like the helmet I picked up to look at and the visor was almost hanging off. The thing felt like a cheap toy, wouldn't stick my head in it. Plenty of better £40/£50 lids around.

Bit unsure about the intercom... i know the rider to pillion ones are a pile of shit, but the bike to bike one could be interesting... i think i'll wait for someone else to buy one first and tell me what its like Twisted Evil

Anyone bought the cover? I'm mainly wondering whether it will fit my zxr750. I mean really fit, like cover it completely and not leave the arse end exposed like some covers do.

Btw i've had the tank bag for about 3 years now and it's still in vgc and works great, i can't recommend it highly enough.

As said, some things are getting expensive now. When they first started doing bike gear things were dirt cheap. The tank bag used to be £9.99 and the disc locks were about £3.

be careful with that mate, i had one from last year and i could put any disc lock key in to open it (tried my oxford lock keys) so just be careful - this years one is different though, so may be worth a try (i might) works as a decent deterrent though if nothing else.

the socks and thermals are great and i'll be getting mroe this year.
the rider to pillion comms i found were ok, have 2 sets infact! i now use them with the headsets from the bike to bike system and it works really well. though the bike to bike comms themself are not that great.

I bought 2 at the same time (for front and rear disc but wont fit the rear) and the I couldnt open 2 locks with one key.. they are not exactly the best but they were intended as deterents... any disc lock is a waste of time.. cut the disc with hefty crops (happened to a lad on here) or undo the disc bolts.. alarm ones are only a little better (cause attention but who bothers to look out other than the owner) but whack it in a bucket of water and you wont hear it any more after that...

Keeps your lower back and kidneys warm when you lean forward and your jacket rides up, might also offer some extra protection to your more squishy bits.

What are the Jackets, Trousers and Boots like?

I have:

Tank bag - 1 year - still in excellent condition and a bargain in my opinion.

Socks - 2 years - fairly worn now and will be getting a couple more pairs.

Thermals - 2 years - well worn, but good value will be getting some more.

Rider/Passenger Intercom - the controversial one! I bought one of these last time round for £6 I think and used it for the first time with the missus a couple of weekends ago. It's not amazing, but for the cash it let her chunter on to me for the hour or so ride in each direction and was perfectly audible at speeds up to about 85. Was also comfy enough, simply put the wires down the fronts of our jackets and clipped the box to my pocket. Personally for something that will only get occasional use I think it's great value!

Laughing That's what I thought, however there is a switch that allows you to turn the pillion off, yet they can still hear you!

Obviously that means that whilst the missus is babbling on about the pony or ducklings she's just seen in the last few fields, you can throw in random "Really?", "Uh huh..." and "That's nice..." phrases and everybody has a fun day out in the countryside! Wink Laughing
