You will need to contact the DVLA, they will issue you with a frame n.o think you'll need an MOT/SVA though.

Hi

Likely to result in a Q plate, which means some insurers won't touch you and the bike will be worth far less.

Replacement frames are sold without frame numbers and the bodge there is to stamp the new frame with the numbers from the existing frame you are replacing.

All the best

Keith

As the age of the frame is indeterminate (as is the age of the donor bike due to that having no frame number) you're likely to get a Q plate. Not good as far as insurance / resale goes.

If I were you I'd wait for a frame with V5 to turn up so you can avoid all these problems.

You could always follow the advice you gave out in this thread a little while back. Wink

Just to make things a little clearer are you trying to register a complete rebuilt bike or just the frame?

It isn't a bodge although if you tell DVLA you have done it they are likely to require an SVA test.
