Seeing as how you can get custom vinyls made up (vintage race rep colour schemes etc) I wondered what I might look like to have some abstract graphics on there instead. Always thought there was room for them on bikes (more interesting panel shapes and lines than a car) so I chucked some quick photoshops together. It would have to be something totally individual (to my tastes) and the more abstract the better. Seem to remember a new manufactures bike colour scheme (gxsr?) had little hints of graphics, but this would be more full on.

Is this even a good idea? or just really naff?

Been out working in the sun all day so thinking maybe I have mild heatstroke manifesting itself in the belief that this is a good idea.

The second one looks quite good! Although I'd dunno what it would do to re-salability

Just whatever floats your boat..

If you like the look, go for it Thumbs Up

Only advice is to probably do it to a bike that you are intending to keep.. It may look great to you, but not everyone will agree, which narrows down the amount of people who will buy it, and therefore the money you will get for it, if and when you sell..

In my personal opinion, I quite like the first one.. You should really just do what you like though.. Life's too short to spend your precious time worrying about what other people might think..

First one looks teh sex on that black ninja.

Second one looks like a weirdly stretched picture of the simpsons??

Third one looks pretty cool.

Good idea IMO if you have the money and a decent bike, go for it.

Vinyls can be easily removed so if the new keeper doesn't like it, it can be removed. Personally, i like the 3rd one.

I had the idea of getting a pure white bike and doing batik motifs and prints over it and i might be tempted to do it if i had a spare set of fairings.

Ah, was misunderstanding, thinking he was talking about painting the plastics that way.. (which would be pretty difficult by the looks of the designs Laughing)

In that case, as above Razz

Why how much are they Confused I though you could get a set for about £60.

Also, do you know if the whole panel design would come on one 'web' to apply in one go, or individual sections (like mini decals). In fact I don't even know why I'm asking, I'd blatantly have to get a professional to put them on. More cost I suppose.

Bottom one is quite nice, top one looks like the bike ran through a paint spillage!

Don't know what was wrong with the images. Were hosted on Flickr so maybe it was just being a fuckr. Have sorted now anyway.

Going to look for some more images. I might actually go through with this as long as:

a) I can find a decent vinyl supplier
b) I can definitely get them off (preferably easily) when I come to sell it
