Hi all,

Just felt I needed to share this with you, this is my new project, as you can see it needs a lot of attention, so hopefully in the upcoming months I can make some progress and get it half decent.

This thread is obviously to keep myself motivated and get some cool comments and tips from anybody.

Things to do:
Resleeve and Rebore
new main bearings and oil seals
chain, sprocket (at later stage, no MOT in South Africa Laughing )
Plastics
Paint

Looking forward to your comments!

Andy

Strange you should mention that, for some reason the smell of 2 stroke always made me feel really really wacky lol Very Happy

Anyway, sorry I don't have any updates yet, the bike is currently on the farm and I've been crashing at a friends place in town, so as soon as I get back to the farm I'll take a couple of pics of the damage and so on and will let you know what happens, think I might be able to get it rebored next week.

Thanks for your comment so far guys!

Right, just a quick update for you guys, after work I can finally get to organize my workspace on the farm, will let you know what happened after the weekend.

Cheers

Hi everybody,

Just a quick update of what I've been doing this past weekend, basically just started stripping the whole bike down and giving it a good clean. Progress has been slow since it feels like a bus or some other heavy object hit me (think it's flu)

Anyway, pic attached, just please excuse the mess.

Thanks Element. We still have a couple of them in SA, but sadly we don't have the newer once like you guys do.

Anyway, since my last post I have been really frustrated, local yamaha dealer is turning out to be pretty much useless, so it looks like I'll have to follow another route.... will update as soon as I have any ideas of what to do.

lol yay I think they would, problem is with the current exchange rate (13.85ZAR for 1 pound) it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg.

LanaThe Great suggested another place in Pretoria (which is only 140 miles away), so I'm gonna go with that option first.
