I hear yawns already.

However pleasantly surprised as the speed of it. Although apparently it is quite slow on XP, but on Vista flies.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma, only 2 weeks ago I moved from Firefox to Google Chrome, which may I add is brilliant. However IE8 actually seems really good. Never thought i'd think that but hey.

Been getting prompts for it for about three weeks now, still haven't updated it yet as it may slow XP so I'm told so I'm in two minds about it...

Don't worry about it - IE8 scores around 12. Laughing

I used mozilla for years before i finally swapped to firefox. It'll take a lot to get me to change again and having looked at ie8 all I see is a still poor user interface with a few more points stolen from firefox. If ie actually come up with something innovative then I might care but for now ie will still be that useless bit of software I have clinging onto my hard drive.

Tried IE8 under XP ProSP3 and it seems damn slow compared to IE7.

I'd stick with Firefox

Just installed it and yes it does. Much quicker than IE7 on vista (just realised how slow IE7 was).

Google Chrome just scored 79/100 on that Acid3 test.

Firefox 3 scored 71/100

Internet Explorer 8, scored 20. Nice. I love how it has a big fat FAIL written in the top left as well.

Think i'm gonna stick with Chrome.

I love how even the safari browser on my Ipod manages to score 74/100.

Wow just tried the acid test in IE and got the image I've attached..

Firefox only gets 71, is it just not up to task or could it be something my end holding it back?

+1 for google chrome
so simple and fast with a nice big browsing screen.
sure there are a few bugs, for instance when typing this message when you delete some stuff it doesn't dissapear it stays there until you start typing over it or highlight it. anyone else have this problem?
the add-ons have started appearing although i'm sure they are not official or approved

Working with websites you soon learn the differences between them, some subtle, with the exception of IE6. IE7 is ok for the most part but some times it just does strange things. Last one that i remember is trying to pull the positioning in on <li> tags a little. FF, Opera, Safari, Chrome all did as i expected, IE7 & IE6 both did their own thing. So ended up scrapping them and using a table.

I haven't used IE8 much yet but it seems ok for us so far.

The latest firefox beta gets 92 on the acid test.
