Hi
Given the alleged throttle response of a gas turbine (ie, shut the throttle and wait a bit before it stops accelerating) is is the slowing down bit that would worry me.
Suspect the fin is necessary. Bikes are lousy for drag, but that does help with stability as the centre of drag should be behind where the thrust is being applied. If you make the bike more aerodynamic at the back then you move the centre of drag forward (the front of the bike isn't that important for drag, hence changes have far more effect at the back). Suspect the fin is there partly to move the centre of drag back again, otherwise it would have the stability of a dart thrown backwards.
Its either that or it is to simulate having Robin as a pillion.
All the best
