This R6 add on ebay, first ive ever laughed at Smile the bloke says,

wish i stuck to riding this instead of the missus as baby on the way now forces sale!!

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999-YAMAHA-R6-BLUE_W0QQitemZ140310911824QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?hash=item140310911824&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Anyway, I'm probably going to bid in the next few days, as I have £1500 saved up now for a bike, having rode my 'ped for a year and a half. Anything I should be looking out for with this bike i.e common problems?

And is it just me or has the price of <2005 600's really dropped recently?

Very Happy Karma

That gold mesh and fake carbon levers are Sick

Other than that it doesn't state the mileage and didn't the early 6's lunch the gearboxes?

Get my dad to test ride it first .. hes been riding for 20+ years and is a qualified bike mechanic, so if it is broke in any way he can fix it easily and should be able to tell if its serious, take value down accordingly etc. But yes, the gearbox reputation is putting me off a bit Thumbs Down

What tasteful mods have you done then, Scouse?

I'm not buying it for the tarty extra's, I'm buying it for the value for money, & if I find a better one will buy that instead.

He says it'll be sold with a private plate, worth £500. Which to be honest, the value of the "private plate" is £0.

I'd knock money off for all the nasty mods he's done, and add no value for the "£500" plate.

That looks gash.

Why a kwak 636 back light? Fake carbon levers + indicators, horrible half black half blue screen. That mesh is the worst. Unless its the light hes anodized/powdercoated right side rearset but not the left.

Just noticed the pillion pegs Sick

Well I haven't done all the crappy mesh cut out's for a start, or the wrongly shaped cut down can. I have done the Seat cowl, light tinted DB screen, removed mirrors, removed indicators, shortie brake levers, renthal grips, decent bar ends, undertray and removed the pillion pegs rather than getting them done it tacky blue.

That enough? I wouldn't bother, I'd save my pennies and look for one that has had a respectful owner with taste. Might save you the extra cash of making it look something decent once more.

if you remove all the ebay crap it'll look tidy, i have no idea why you'd think fake carbon levers would be an improvement Laughing

That private plate style (R6 xxx) can be bought new from the DVLA inc paperwork and vat for £245.

Not sure where his £500 is coming from?
