Had a little trouble starting bike when i left for work yesterday morning, seemed fine when it got going though. found it really hard to start when i left work 8hrs later and dash was flickering on/off till it gave up the ghost completely5miles into my 15mile journey. Put it on accumate overnight and it started great this morning. Turned off the charger all day & just tried again..

Started fine first 2 or 3 times, then got harder & harder.

- When running the volts over the battery read 13v. At first it was reading 12.5v when off, dropping to 11v when starting.

- Now its still 13v when running, but drops to 10v on fuel pump prime and 7v on start.

Does this seem like a battery issue, or stator/alternator or something completely different??

hi
sounds like the battery is finished so get a new one.

chargers will give the impression the battery is fully charged but if it cant hold the charge it will drain quickly.
as its only showing 10 volt's on prime and 7 on start its had it hth

So you recon thats the most likely cause, and not the stator? I'll get myself a new one & hope it does the trick!

Thanks
