coolant troubles!

was out for a ride today, bit of a hoon nothing insane, the oil temp never got anywhere near the red nor did the fan come on. Then when i stopped and got off at home about a 1/3rd of a pint of coolant came out the overflow pipe above the number plate

sooo, what are my options?
is this a headgasket issue?

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

May just be overfilled, in which case it will tend to spit when you stop the engine because as the fluid stops circulating the stuff near the hot bits boils and forces the rest out. So it's usually fine for a minute or so after you get off, then it pours out.

With a busted head gasket, it tends to dribble out constantly, so you get home, a couple of drops come out straight away but the bottle is already mysteriously empty.

just read a similar thread, looks like i'll just have to top it up, watch it carefully and hope for the best

hi

i would check the fan is working as this is a clasic fan not working so the bike boils over when you stop.

may be over filled but fan most likely hth

check the fan turns as they rust over winter and then jam and this blows the fuse

bike was used throught winter, fan was working a week ago, but like i said it didnt come on today.

Best way to check would be to refill coolant then leave at idle untill fan either comes on/coolant overflows?
