I saw one in a dealer's last week, and id say the following things:
1, it's better looking IMO than a CBF600.

2, It seems fine as an entry level first bike bike, and it's fairly practical too.

3, For the lower spec components and parts as well as less power and build quality than an FZ6 it should be a bit cheaper still.

4, I looked at the FZ6 close up for the first time, and TBH i think it's really nicely finished and well put together. It looked better built than the Honda Hornet or at least an equal!

5, I'd buy the FZ6 every time over the XJ or ER6 or Gladius etc. It looks great with plenty of style and attitude and i bet it's loads of fun to ride, especially the naked version!

If they are anything like the old Xj's it will be a very good solid and reliable bike.

The new one's certainly have a few owners of the older models lusting over them Mr. Green

As above, if they're anything at all like the old models then they'll b very solid bikes that will go for miles but have very soft suspension.
