Hi everyone. Me and the Mrs are looking to do a lot of touring in the summer and being a bit of a noob at the touring game I thought I would turn to the friendly bunch in here for some advice Very Happy

Starting off I am after some advice about luggage. I am after a hard rear top box and 2 hard side box's, but am really unsure about:-

*how they fit on
*what I actually need
*does the lugguage usually come with frames ect included
*are they hard to fit
*how much i could be looking to pay
*what brands I should be looking at

Maybe any experiences you guys have had with different types of luggage as well that would be great.

The bike is a suzuki sv1000s K3 model, and im looking at touring to Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and finally France. I am sure I will have lots more questions soon.

Thanks Smile

Assuming you'd probably be best to go for GIVI/KAPPA if you want hard luggage for a bike like that.

The frames will bolt onto the bike using existing bolts - such as the handrail and footrests.

The frames will be bike specific, pannier frames are normally about £100 new, and the top box rails and plate are about £60. They are normally quite easy to fit.

The luggage will normally be generic, and you can get plenty of different sizes, boxes new are normally about 100-200 each depending on size and type.

Obviously you can go 2nd hand for boxes and frames if you can find them (or buy new frames and get 2nd hand boxes).

I've used these guys in the past, seem pretty good service and price. They have a buyers guide as well:

Hope that helps a bit.
