Hi,

Long time reader, first time poster so probably doesn't give me good credit in my response to whether someone's dodgy or not...!

But these guys are Lloyd-Coopers in Watford (https://www.lloyd-cooper.com/). Quite a big company who have been doing good deals for quite a while, they had a problem in that their online name was very similar to a dodgy Chinese motorcycle company (was on Watchdog a few months ago).

Anyway getting to the point, they're quite good, a friend bought their bike from them and gets it serviced by them with no problems. Even Warranty issues have been sorted quickly including one's which Lloyd Cooper's told him to make when they've found a problem during servicing, must be fairly reasonable as others would hide it to avoid the trouble I'm sure.

They have a big showroom in Watford High Street so you can meet a real person which also increases confidence in an online company.

Hope that helps you.

Regards,
cpp01

Thanks for the reply. Thumbs Up Karma Their price is very good for the ER-6N, and I know it mentions something on their web site about a ride or MCN award they got.

I'm just trying to work out whether it's a good idea of purchasing from someone so far away (I live in NI). I'm assuming the warranty would stand for any Kwak dealer?

My local dealer is only 6 miles away but he's a lot less reluctant to drop his price.

I've emailed Lloyd Cooper today to establish the delivery charge for sending the bike over here. Taking that into account, there might not be as much difference between them. At the minute there's at least £500!

Warranty should be alright (better check though!). You could always make a holiday of it, Ryanair flight to Stansted then train across to Watford; fairly simple to do train planner says 2 hour but it always over estimates the underground! Sadly the train will probably more expensive than the plane.
By the time you get home it'll be ready for its first service!

How much are they doing the ER6n for? Is it the newest model? Kawasaki Direct are normally the cheapest around for ER6's and I got my dealer to price match them. I run an 'old' model ER6f and they're a good bike, I commute daily and tour (did large part of Europe in 7 days last year) on it so very competent and fun. Although I can see why people say its a 'newbie' bike it still great fun for more experienced riders too and easily does 55mpg, more during longer journeys (i.e. touring). Just for comparison I had a Bandit 600 before abd the ER6 is much lighter and generally better in my opinion, little bit more vibey but nothing major.

Anyway, hope that helps, if you have any questions bout the ER6 I can try and help or see https://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~shanetp/Index.html or https://www.brp650forum.com/phpbb3/index.php, both very good for ER6 specific info.

Thanks, that was really useful. They're offering the 09 model at £4049. It currently retails at £4699 (Kawasaki increased their prices were increased on 1st April Sad - was £4409.

I mentioned Kawasaki direct to my local dealer, but he said they would be pre-reg models (I don't care either way) and about me not getting the 600 mile service etc thrown in. He didn't seem particularly interested in trying to sell the bike to me - Confused I left him my number and told him to get back to me with the best he could do. Still haven't heard anything.

I'll look at those forums you mentioned and try to find out more.

Thanks again for your help. Karma Thumbs Up
