I was adjusting the mirrors on my bike the other day, sat on the bike, spanner in hand, to get the correct angle of when i am riding, got the right position then tighten the nut, then i stupidly dropped the spanner and it landed on my tank leaving a little scratch. Nice blue tank with a bit of white on it now. So annoying!!! Anyone else damaged their bike in an act of clumsiness.

yup... Tightening the headstock nut, needed some extra leverage so I grabbed hold of the front and... *snap*... que the indicator swinging limply from side to side!

Riding my bike on 4 inches of ice was a pretty stupid way to damage it Laughing

Also fell off of the stand on a slope once, and i put the stand down wrong one so fell off that time too.

Also tank is scratched up plenty from grit and stuff on my tankbag.

Its safe to say that the bike is in a far worse state than when i got it!

just fitted newly sprayed bodywork and bars with a brace to my CB, and went to take it out of the garden, tried turning the bars and nothing, hmm I thought and gave them a good yank, still no movement but a bit of flex.

Looked down and there was a small screwdriver through the bar brace, digging into the freshly painted tank.

Then about a year and many many scratches later I let it go off on it's own, ie ran alongside it with it moving under its own power, then let go of the bars, huge dent in the tank, and nobody believed that I did it on purpose Sad

meh, it ended up looking like it does in my sig link anyway so I'm not fussed in the slightest.

I have to run the bike up a ramp to get up some steps once out of the garage and one morning i must have been still half asleep and completely missed the step and dropped the bike straight on top of myself, my body saved any damage but the exhaust now has a nice dent and scratches. Was a bastard trying to lift off myself whilst still half up the ramp Laughing

Another time i rode the bike in the garage and when getting off somehow clipped the wall with my boot and knocked a saw straight off a hanger and it landed on my seat leaving it with a nice gash in the back. Stupid place to put saws Laughing *now moved*

Haha that reminds me of one, I'd put bars instead of clip ons on the (at the time) shiney and scratch free FZR and I wanted to go back to clip ons, so I was twatting the riser which was clamped onto the top of the fork from the bottom to get it off, suddenly it popped off and flew into the air and arced down directly towards the tank Shocked instinctively reached out, and didn't manage to catch it but did punch it, in mid air straight into a wall. If I hadn;t immediatly shouted "jesus fuck, my cunting hand!" afterwards it would probably of looked very cool Cool

...past my own car to get to the shed, a miscalculation which led to: £347 to audi for a new mirror for car, mirror on bike has never been the same since and is unusable at speeds above 45mph.

I managed to break my helmet's visor when I had to park on some grass at uni. Had the helmet in my hand and got off the bike. Turned away and saw movement out of the corner of my eye as it began to drop. Stupid stand was sinking into the grass. Managed to throw my weight beneath it an inch or so above the ground and as it's only a baby gixxer I managed to just about hold it, then use my legs to lever it up. Snapped off the visor somehow though.

Was left in the same original predicament though, so popped one of my boots on the sidestand and it was fine Very Happy

Fitted a gear indicator, which required calibrating so I have to run it through all six gears on the paddock stand. I didnt notice my side panel had fell against the rear wheel and it quickly rubbed away a large patch of paint Sad

Not damaged mine but damaged my fella's R1 Embarassed

we'd gone for an afternoon blat and i noticed something wrong with my bike so we park up in a layby, fella takes my bike to check out the problem. I casually lean against his bike and bam....over it goes.

He only had it 3 weeks so i'm desperatly trying to pick it up before he gets back and all of a sudden along comes a passing fire engine....needless to say i had 2 strapping firemen jump out to help as they thought i'd fallen off it Razz

Fella pulls up as they were lifting the bike Very Happy

Only ever done one silly thing. I had just replaced a tapped on my xr400, i had just got everything cleaned up so i decided to start it. I forgot that it was in gear and when i jumped on the kick starter it lurched forward rolling of the stand. The only thing was the nsr was right next to it and the end of the handlebar scraped down the side of the tank. It was a laugh me laying on the floor being squashed by the xr in between the nsr while my mate was laughing his cock off at me.

umm... I got a few Embarassed

1) the old favourite of going through a doorway which saw me catch the rear indicator on the frame and *snap*

2) the *slightest* downhill slope and i decided it would be ok to park it on the sidestand for a second facing downwards. I got to the gate i had to shut and heard *BANG* looks around and sure enough, its on the floor.

Picked it up to see a broken indicator and clutch lever. I filed the sharp edges off the clutch lever and then sellotaped the indicator back together, which was good enough to get me home.

3) the headgasket had failed and I had removed the motor to have it repaired at the local bike shop. I'd put a cover over the bike and tied it on as the weather wasn't the best. WHat i didnt allow for was the wind getting up combining with the reduced weight of the bike. The cover caught the wind and blew the blasted thing over. To this day my clutch lever is still bent Rolling Eyes

BTW.. anyone want to buy my bike? Laughing Laughing

Only had my bike for 26hrs - put it on side stand on an incline - walked off looking cool etc

after about 4m....

BANG - went back and lo and behold , the bike had fallen over!

Front indicator broken, clutch lever scratched - front fairing scratched - got away with it lightly i think!

I consider such things a learning curve!

I've still got a bloody great dent in the tank from my rendition of the 'sidestand puck fail'. Evil or Very Mad

Rolled up at the Bulldog a couple of years ago in the middle of a heatwave, the ground rock solid so it never occurred to put my puck under the sidestand.......... On the Saturday it rained........ Lots! Rolling Eyes

I used to think it was a good idea to wash a bike with a sponge.

Getting on in the morning, put my leg over, sat on it and my backpack carried on moving right. Bike proceeded to tip over as I couldn't hold it up. Leg under the fairing stopped all damage, go me!

On my CBT, which I was doing with a broken finger. (Wrapped up in a splint + a plastic cover.) Putting a CG125 on it's centre stand, pushed down and pulled up and snap goes my finger again, broken twice in two weeks and it's still fucked to this day. Thumbs Up Passed my "Putting bike on centre stand." though. Laughing

Going through a car park in the early morning on a cold day after it had rained, turning a corner and there was a patch of black ice right in the centre of the road. Front wheel hit it, blam, down it goes.

Scratched left fairing + snapped clutch lever.
