Its something that ive wondered for a while, what exactly is inside an insect or spider?
I know the outside is an exoskeleton but im guessing they dont have normal muscles and organs like us inside.

Karma for intresting answers Thumbs Up

Inside spiders you get Red Powerbands...

Inside beetles you get Blue Powerbands...

Inside butterflys you get Yellow Powerbands...

Inside various other insects you get the other range of colours...

when i used to feed my geckos i often wondered what was inside the crickets, so one day i performed a mini autopsy on one and all i could conclude is that the inside of a cricket is just dark mush, like a pureed prune, looks something similar to the detritus left on your visor after a good hoon.

as for the larger bugs, i can only assume there is a larger amount of goo. nature would suggest they should have lungs (of some description), heart, liver and other vital organs. maybe when i performed the cricket post mortem i should have got someone with a more delicate touch than my ham fisted attempt to delicately slice open the chirruping little bleeder.

I know they breath in a similar way to osmosis in plants, they have visible holes in the skin on some larger insects.

Slugs have green stuff - when you put salt on them, they curl up and
the green stuff comes oozing out.

"What's Inside Bugs?"

Such a deep and philosophical question posed as childlike curiousity.
What is inside any of us? I imagine shame, resentment and the feeling that one is not living up to the expectations of other bugs.
Either that or goo.

I once hit a slug that was thrown to me with a cricket bat, it flew off, but it left what looked very much like a miniature human brain on the bat.... Confused

Should point I was possibly about 8 at the time.
