Cat Muscles

Does anyone know if it's a common occurrence for a cat to pull/strain muscles ?

If so, has anyone had to deal with a cat that has pulled/strained a muscle specifically on a front leg?

Well knowing what I do about our furry feline feckers, I think you'll have a bit of a job getting it to do anything or not 'do' anything. If you want it to recuperate, keep it in the house for a couple of days. If you let it out, make sure it's in at night (all bad things happen to cats at night).

One of ours got a claw injury on his front leg a while back, he limped and meaowed a bit, but after a while he was back to normal. We didn't do anything other than the above.

Thanks. She only goes out when I let her out anyway, they aren't very 'outdoor' type cats - and I think she is put off by going out at the moment anyway due to the fact that it was being chased by a big butch cat that caused her little mishap.

Not all that common a diagnosis.

Stiffness/lameness after an altercation with another cat is more likely to be a bite wound. Keep an eye out for heat, swelling or any discharging wounds on the leg in question. If you see these, it'll probably need a course of antibiotics.

If in doubt, get it checked over tomorrow, it's a bank holiday weekend coming up and you don't want to cop out of hours charges at the vets.

Not related at all, but our cat has taken to sleeping in some really odd positions, and then when he wakes up it looks like his legs have gone to sleep.

He walks like a nutter, wobbling all over the place. A minute or two later he's fine again! Never fails to make me chuckle!
