They seem to give some nice ones nowadays. What's the best you've had? At the moment my dad's been given a 58 reg C class with all the AMG bits which is quite cool Cool

Fairly mundane cars usually. Best (most expensive) was a new 520d Auto estate, really nice car. Best to drive, 120d Msport, really quick for a 2.0 oil burner and handling was awesome. Shame about build quality and comfort.

Worst: Mini / Mini Cooper / Mini Cabrio. Really don't have a good thing to say about new gen Minis, although I wouldn't mind a thrash in a supercharged one for shits and giggles.

Trying to think back, I can only remember ever having two courtesy cars. Six or seven years ago, I had a 1.0 SEAT Arosa. About 3 years before that, a Peugeot 406. Never had a courtesy bike.

And the fact to get any decent corner speed I would have to lean out of the car window like a boat.. Laughing

Never had a reason to have a courtesy car or bike, in my last job I woulda been sorted though (courtesy bike hire), so could've had a K7 GSXR1000 if I wanted.

I did once get a courtesy bike for a few hours while my ZXR400 was in for a service many many years ago, it was a 1980s CB250 with wobbly wheels, I nearly hit a taxi.

Thinking back, the courtesy vehicle which was "best" or most fun was the oddest - my local place lent me a quad when they were working on my Bandit.

Otherwise things have generally been fairly manyana manyana:
Nissan Micra - I kept falling out the door trying to get out of it.
Saab 95 - horrible soggy auto gearbox.
BMW 1-series - small, overheavy and underpowered.
2x BMW R1200 GS' - both under running-in restrictions, so lacking in fun, and with the short seat fitted, so a real pain in the arse...
Hyosung GT650S (I think) - tiny plastic sportsbike. Revved like a tractor, good brakes though.
BMW Rockster 1150 - kinda fun, but hated the servo-assisted brakes.

I think you will find that you are actually obligated by law to be as mechanically unsympathetic to your loan motor as possible. It dates back to the Cromwell times, when coach houses would loan Royalists a fresh horse to continue their journey. Cromwell passed a law stating that all 'loaners' should be thrashed as hard, and as long, as possible by loyal supportes so as to discourage the coach houses from loaning.

Probably.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
