My yamaha tzr 50 sometimes cuts out when Im just going along fine. The revs just drop until I come to a stop.

Also it doesnt let me rev it hard as I cant take it past 10,000 rpm but as soon as I put the choke on it pulls right past 10,000.

When it does cut out it is hard to get started. It wont even bump start but if I leave it 5 minutes or so it usually starts fine. After that it cuts out every couple of miles. Can somebody help me with ths problem

It is not a sparking problem as I have already changed the coil, lead, plug, and tried a colour tune in and even when it cut out it was still sparking but not igniting. I have also cleaned the carbuerattor and raised the needle as high as it can go as the choke suggests that there is not enough petrol or there is too much air in the mixture.

The bike is derestricted but I havent done any modifications to it.

The bike used to go fine and I havent changed anything.

Definitely a fuel problem.

make sure you have fuel in the tank. Make sure any fuel filters are clean. If you have done these and still have the problem, you will need to clean your carb.

I suggest you give it to someone who knows what they are doing! Could just be dirt in the carb and/or sticky float.

I dont think it is afuel problem. I think its an air leak but I dont know how to find it.

Already cleaned the fuel filter, the fuel flow is fine. I have cleaned the carb 3 times. I know what I am doing. Just never had a problem this difficult, Its just difficult to find the fault.

Gonna open my engine up incase their is an air leak in the crankcase

Only likely place is the inlet manifold. Check the rubber for cracks. Make sure all bolts are tight etc.

Rather than opening up the engine, get some 2 stroke fuel mix and pour into the crankcase, it will seep out of any holes and won't damage your engine. Do not pour into the gearbox though.

Or run the bike, and go round it spraying WD40 around all places you suspect a airleak, like carb rubbers etc.
