I don't want to piss on your parade a little but 80mph on a 50cc monkey? That seems a little optimistic even if by sat nav.

Anyways, just an excuse to whore my little bad boy.

PS, my sat nav stated that this 110 would do 45mph stock.

OK so I missed that bit, but Ben's pit would struggle to do a true 80 with the Lifan 150 motor.

Its all irrelevant anyways as speed on a bike that small is fun no matter how fast or slow.

hey Daddy !! it wasnt an out of the box 120, it had been worked on by gary at DRP and had tjr barrel and piston, and you are right its bloody good fun on a bike that size if not a little scary, the motors out getting rebuilt at the moment as it broke the inner cases where the gearbox/starter idler gear mesh after it backfired one morning when kicking it over.

nice skycheese gorilla by the way, do you go on the forum at www.monkeyrun.co.uk by any chance?

for the record those lifan 150 are a pile of shite, ive had to help repair three now all had bad blow by on the pistons and one had munched the gearbox pretty bad, so dont know how long they will last, the smaller flywheel and adjustable cdi pickup they use is however a good design and I will be using this on my next engine build so I can "play" with the stock timing a bit seeing as the motor wont be having to run 2 star petrol like it would in taiwan or china etc.

there was a lad runnning one of those skyteam 110's in a dax on the IOW rally a couple of years back and for a standard motor it went really well. I see you have got one of Adrians pipes on it, he does some good stuff, cant really tell much more about your machine, you got a build thread on it anywhere'??

I take it all back then Embarassed

Would love to have a crack at modifying from the ground up as there are loads of things that I would do differently or never managed to do first time around due to money and time.

The bikes stuck 15,000miles away at the moment in my mums garage. They seem to be banned from being sold or even imported here in Oz due to design problems making them 'dangerous' on the road. One of these is not having a a kill switch? My Yamaha ped doesn't have a kill switch and yet its on the road straight from the factory?

Oh well.

strange I thought they all had the kill switch on the right hand switch gear??

gorilla is something I considered due to the fact I do all my epic road trips on the dax, rode to both the IOW rallies I attended which was 200 miles each way rode to doncaster once which was 160 miles..

still now the MTX is getting there maybe ill use that a bit more. just need to buy some new sprockets as the ones on it are proper fubar..

if you ever get back to the Uk there is a good scene in Essex,

all the best

Nick

(as to modifying from the ground up all Ive really done is bolt that motor in and weld on a couple of lugs so I could use monkey tank and seat rather than the dax ones)

funny but a lotof people say that.. at the time of owenership id only ever owned it, but having done 70 on the MTX I can see the difference the big wheels make now.

at the moment the dax is in bits as I decided that those speeds on piddly drum brakes was taking a risk as my stopping distance from flat out was about 1/2 a mile... Shocked

so got nice big 220mm disc for the front and slightly smaller for the rear.. (also seen a bore up that will make it a tad mroe interesting)
