Little question on a new air filter . .

Okay . . Very soon i am going to be buying a new air filter ( Sporty cone style . . k and n or something )

And i have been told to oil it, and i know you are suposed to do this with quite exposed air filters to help catch the shit.
But i was wanting to know what oil will do the job.
I was thinking 3 in 1, not to thin, not to thick ?
Or i have a penertrating oil, i was thinking it may get really soaked in ?
Or not at all ? I am really not sure

Air filter oil would be the best. K&N do a spray on type.

As said, K&N do air filter oil, probably others as well. It doesn't really matter what you use, it just needs to be a very light covering. The idea is that the minute particles of dirt and dust sticks to the oil rather than going through the filter material.

Fork oil is fairly thin.

If it is a k&n one though you will need spray on really because you can't wring the oil out.

Just put some oil on your fingers and rub it in. If you want to spray it then recycle a spray bottle. If the oil seems too thick then thin it with some petrol and leave the filter to dry.

If you feel really cheap them come round mine and you can use some of my K&N oil
