I'm in the middle of rebuilding an NS125F (1987) and need to get two new tyres for it. Does anyone have any recommendations based on personal experience? I think they should be 3.25 - 16 front and 3.50 - 18 rear but when I tried to look for tyres on the net they also ask for the profile, anyone know what this shoud be. Also can you fit a slightly wider rear tyre as the standard one looks a bit skinny. Thanks in advance.

AFAIK the original tyre sizes were:

Front tyre 3.00-16

Rear Tyre 3.25-18

I dont know what the profile should be however i could have a look once i get home, ive got a set of wheels and tyres off one im going to start re-building soon

Hi

55 is not the profile. 3.00, 3.25, 3.50, etc, are old imperial tyre sizes and there is no seperate profile for them.

According to the manual the NS uses a 3.25-16 front and a 3.50-16 rear. In metric equivalents I think those are 100/90 16 and 110/90 16 respectively.

Squeezing a larger tyre on (especially onto the narrow standard rims) is just like to really screw up the handling.

All the best

Keith

Thanks Keith,

I take it you meant 110/90/18 rear
