I have a nose bleed :(

Just sneezed and my nose started bleeding so I thought I'd share it with you. Anyone got any nose bleed related stories?

However I've always found the best way to stop a nosebleed is to stick your nose under a cold running tap for a few minutes.

my nose bled so much once i half filled a pint glass and yeh i had to go to hospital

worst things about them are when they clot and you have to pull the big buggers out, thier like big mahoosive slimey bogies

When i was in hospital they put a clip on my nose , i was told NEVER to lay my head down or upside down as this stops the clotting process

They said the way to stop nose bleeds is to squeeze the bridge of your nose and when i say squeeze i mean till it hurts.
Or let it drip till it clots.

A bloke I know used to get nose bleeds when he got stressed, like having an argument with his girlfriend which made him cry. Interesting sight...

When I did my first aid course they said squeeze the soft bit at the bottom until it stops. If you squeeze the bridge you're just squeeze bone, which does nothing to help stop it.

One of my dad's mates gets nose bleeds really easily. Just rub his nose and off he goes. Weird.

Funny you should say that Neil, thats what happens to me, well except the crying bit.

I've had nose bleeds all my life i get them mainly through stress or migraines. trouble is my nose bleeds for about half hour a time.

Had the choice of having it quarterised but thought fcuk that for a game of soldiers would rather suffer the bleeds.

yeh pretty much although it's usually with the migraines that it gushes.

Never had a spontaneous nose bleed, but had a couple of accidental ones when being hit in the face not deliberate apparently! I was only worried about my nose not being broken - didn't want a wonky nose, blood everywhere was incidental!

I used to get major nosebleeds when I was really young.

This stemmed from having the shit kicked out of me by my "Mates" on a daily basis. It got to the point where I;d just sniff and it would bleed like a tap for 45 minutes.

In the end they cauterized it. All I remember is them shoving a bullet shaped cotton bud up my nose, followed by a solidering iron, and the smell of burning blood/skin, which was accompanied by an absolutely horrific pain which has only been topped by one other thing in my life.

Done the trick though!

Until my brother landed a beautiful right straight on me and popped the bugger again some years later. I werent gonna go through all that again though and it got better a lot quicker than before.

Know what you mean about those massive globs of blood and bogeys though, it's rather alarming sometimes!

Hmm, I was at lifeguard training (you have to do training every month after passing) and I was doing a length under water.... Looking down at the pool floor thinking I am running out of breath, lift my head up and smash into the wall. Broke my nose, lots of blood and cracked my head and had to get sterristrips. I have never lived it down at work.

How strange, I had a nose bleed as I got into the shower just now. Got a bit messy.

I used to get them a lot when i started wrestling and boxing - even the lightest contact would pop it and i'd start to gush (this was despite already having had my nose broken twice before).

During one sparring session, my coach popped my nose for me, asked 'You haven't got the Aids, have you?' and then refused to let me stop to stem the flow of blood, despite my protestations.
After the session, i looked like i had just walked off the set of a horror movie as i was absolutely soaked down my front with claret.

Strangely, they just suddenly stopped happening, and i've never had one since - regardless of how frequently i get punched in the face. I guess my nose just got conditioned into the acceptance of regular physical violence.
