I didnt even know what a bobber was, but have a mate who is going to learn and wants a "bobber" style bike. Does anyone have any specific model suggestions for him?

Ideally going to be a "cheap first bike" Laughing candidate too...

I thought the whole idea was they were dodgy custom-made ones; really ruin a bike just to prove to you're self you're a 'real man' Smile.

He handy with a hacksaw and a welder?

Real bobber = properly old Harley with most the bits that don't do anything essential hacked off. Also kinda works with Triumph's, BSA's and the like but the concept started with Harleys (mostly 'cos the Brit bikes were lighter and quicker, so the Harley boys "bobbed" their bikes to loose weight).

Cheap first bike, you'll be lucky...

On the presumption you mean CBT as opposed to a full license.. The Honda Rebel has to looked at.

You probably wont get a 'proper' bobber without customising one though, but for inspiration Smile

Project Shitter rocks...

Still think a proper bobber should be a fairly powerful, well, ish, but lardy bike with all the extras cut off- there's so many definitions of "bobber" that we could be here all day.

And it'd be entirely pointless 'cos I reckon the OP is actually referring to a cruiser anyway...

Nah he knows what he wants, and the "bobber" look is jusst it. I did tell him they tend to be custom built and not something off a shelf, but I didn't know didly squat about em.

Project shitter ftw. I'll show my mate the replies and let him get on with it, he suggested building one himself... Neutral .
