yeah i wasnt too sure about doing so high mileage on a 125 but the XR hold 60/65 really well! feels like it would hold it all day long!

I would now go anywhere on my little XR! I saw this field i used to play on as a kid and thought sod it lets see how this bike likes the grass and i have to say i was very impressed!

I had a fair run out too - not on your scale, and all to places I've been before, but still. Enough to give me a pleasant tingle in my arse cheeks until they'd been bathed.

???

Oh right, at least we know the motivation for such a long trip. It always hurts the first time....so I'm told.

200miles isnt bad for a wee run out to be honest, id say we average about 160miles on each ride out we do. Thank god summers almost here though, means i can raise that to 300 by going into sunny cumbria Very Happy

i admit i'd have never taken on a 200mile ride on my old 125 Laughing

Yep! I was so happy I made it! Smile Im going for a little ride out to petersfield, then to bordon then to alton today hehe

feeling much better today, bum has recovered but my lower back is still hurting a little but nothing which is going to stop me riding today!

The reason i got the stones to do such milage on a 125 was that you guys gave me this web site https://www.re-moto.com/index.php?lang=eng

and i thought well, they did 40,000miles on a 125 200 would be nothing!

Did a 120+ mile run round the Norfolk broads/coast myself today on the old 125!

Standing on the pegs near the end, it's hard work! Defintely have respect for people doing 1,000 plus mile trips!

PPl say that 125's are too slow for travel, they're not. I was easily keeping up with the traffic on carriageways (in fact, overtaking a fair bit) - on the slowest of the sliow 125's, an old ybr125 that tops out at 60, 65 if you're lucky.

a 125 is more than adequate for <300 miles travel. Anything more tan that, then I agree, you'd want the extra poke on the straights just to munch the miles a bit quicker.

A lot of people think, oh a 125, only good for going to the shops to pick up bread! Rubbish! It's all in the head! A decent 125 can keep up with at least 75% of road users.

yeah i think that as well! on my way down to brighton i did overtake a number of cars and vans. I also was standing on my pegs on the way back. People was giving me funny looks but i didnt care!

I know I am going to clock up some crazy miles this summer if the weather kepts up like this! Its nice having a bike I enjoy riding!

A 4 stroke 125 is 'keeping up' with other road users when it's at maximum revs in top gear. A lot of people don't like to ride their bikes like that.
It has helped for this case that over the last few years average speeds have significantly decreased. Still, I prefer bikes that won't get (empty) lorries up their chuff at any semi-reasonable hill.

Similarly, while, yes, you can do many 215 miles on a 125 and enjoy it, you could also do it just find on an 80. That doesn't that most people wouldn't find it more enjoyable on a bike that would either be a lot more relaxed at those speeds, or going faster. And, also, for the OP: try something like this: https://www.lambland.co.uk/shop/motorcycle-seat-p-1190.html. Not that it'll help much in Brighton!
