The bulb holder/sockets both broke on the NSR, just crumbled in my hands when doing some work on it at the weekend. It's that bakerlite type stuff...i tried aralditing them back together but that didn't work.

So, i'm trying to get hold of some new ones. David Silver are looking and said they'll call me back, but the local Honda dealer wants £15 a piece plus vat for them Exclamation (obviously made of gold then, not bakerlite...) and worse still they won't arrive until next tuesday Rolling Eyes

So now i'm trying to find a decent bike breaker that may have an old NSR knocking about.

Anyone know of a good place to try?

Cheers.

And on the offchance, don't suppose anyone here has any old NSR twin headlight spares...?

Reservior Cogs?

Something like part finder's probably your best bet, or ebay.

Cheers, Big Ham,

Couldn't find Reservoir Cogs anywhere - would you have a link?

Nothing on ebay, and i've sent a request on partfinder, but heard nothing back from it yet.

Unless something comes back I think i might have a go at making my own bloody socket holder. Rolling Eyes

Had this bike since July andi've only been able to ride it for a complete week once, since. Grrrr. Evil or Very Mad

Cheers for that, Kal, i'll definitely be keeping that for future use.

Future, because i've just this minute bought two sockets which should be here tomorrow or Thursday. Thumbs Up

Abbey Motorcycles (i think..) in Leicester called in response to my part finder request. Second hand ones unfortunately, and still the same price as new, but if it means getting them tomorrow and not sometime next week i'm willing to forego the new ones. Hopefully they won't crumble when i fit them...

Have to say that part finder thing seems to work quite well, I'll be using that again i think. Shame their server seems to be constantly busy and unavailable, but otherwise good stuff.

You are welcome, Pitstop90 have some random rare kit in stock. Personally I've never been able to get on with partfinder.

Abbey are about a mile and a half from my house Thumbs Up I don't tend to use them because I prefer Lesters round the corner but it's so clean in there!

My impression of them was more like a racetracks pitset up than a working garage (if you see where I am going with that)

Last time I was up there was before they moved so things may have changed. It did consist of a shop of stripped spares and a large yard of unstripped bikes.

There was a lot of the bikes you'd expect, but there was also rarer honda hardware in the yard and I saw a couple of ART race cans in the shop itself.

There is some lovely roads round there, and a couple of nice pubs. Wink

Are you planning a return to team Honda? Smile

Nah, just there's no decent breakers up in York and I keep missing Rufforth autojumble.

Looking for a random cheap rear luggage rack to bodge onto the gixxer for rallies, also on the lookout for a dirt cheap project 125. It's not far from where I stay in Derby, and I've got this Friday off down there. Smile

Ha! Laughing Funny you should mention that, it appears to be the day after Rufforth (Rufforth is 1st Saturday of the month, Newark 1st Sunday), missed them both this month and am away 1st weekend of next month. Rolling Eyes Sad

Need to find a 125 by June, else I will have to carry Farmyard luggage with a pillion as well! Shocked
