Hey, im having a problem with my aprilia rs50 gearbox and i dont know how to tackle it. As im shifting gears upwards and downwards theres a big "crack" noice. the gears do shift but its not as smooth as it should be, i cant think of what the problem could be. Any ideas on solving the problem are appreciated.

Check your clutch is adjusted properly and isn't dragging.

Common problem on all AM6 engined bikes. (Tzr50, Rs50, that rx50 etc) Its the gear selectors.

They Slip out of gear, crunch and crack.

Both my Rs50 and my Tzr do it.

In fact, I have never come accross one that doesnt do it.

Problem was fixed it 2007 I think, when they used a new engine for the Rs50.

Is your chain the right tention and well lubed.
This could help with a smooth gear change.

The chain is well fitted, not sure about how lubed it is. i will give it a go and see how it runs. Im thinking the problem is in the gearbox though. The motorbike doesnt jump or go out of control when i change gear, it just has this loud crack noise and im worried if i leave it like that it will cause more damage.
