Hello,

I recently replaced my oil seals on my 600 bandit 98 did everything the manual said.

It was all going fine until i put the fork oil in and when i went to pump the fork to get rig of any air it would not move it was solid the fork tube would not move in the fork slider.

It seems to me that it is not sliding up and down the damper rod i have taken it all apart and started again cleanin and looking for damage along the way.

But i cant figure it out there must be something wrong with the end of the fork tube cos its not sliding up and down the damper rod cos when i tighten the damper bolt to the bottom of the fork slider the fork tube will not move.

as anyone had this problem and/or know what to do.

Cheers Confused

check that the damper rod seat is not stuck in the end of the slider. Sounds very much like what would cause the problem... Number 8 in the schematic!

Thanks for the help, had another go and all they needed was a bit of force i tried pullin them out before but they seemed to be stuck fast and did not want to force them. but after reassembling them again and seeing everything was in its place i had nothing to lose. So i clamped them in a vice and gave them an almighty tug and to my relief they came free. Very Happy
