I've had my RXS100 for a few months now and I am wanting to big bore it but I'm unsure of how to go about doing it, so I have a few questions:

-Firstly, is it a job I will be able to do relitevly easily?
-What tools do I need to do it?
-How much faster/ how many more cc's will it do with a + 1.50 piston?

Also, if someone would be able to say a sort of step by step guide or give me a link to somewhere that has one, that would be great!

Thanks very much

Hi

Realistically an oversize rebore on its own will probably add next to nothing to the performance. A +1.5 bore would add only 4cc to the capacity.

If you did decide to do it then other than the actual rebore it would be pretty easy.

All the best

Keith

hmmm yeh. I did see another piston on ebay which was +2.00, but as you say that probably won't make much difference either.

Would a better exhaust make more difference do you think? How would I go about making an expansion chamber?

Thanks

Hi

Unless you want to do a load of research and playing around then I wouldn't make one. Micron used to make an expansion chamber for the RXS many years ago.

All the best

I'm afraid you'd need to learn how to weld and fabricate before making an expansion chamber yourself.

Unfortunately, the case is: I have no idea.

But i think i'll look into buying on, i'll have a look around now.

Thanks very much

I've got a Giannelli on my RX-S that I would possibly sell to you.

It may need a de-coke but you shouldn't need to re-jet the carb as I ran it with the standard jet (unless that's because it's coked up to hell).

I'm not sure if it was the exhaust or not but I could only ever get 65mph out of mine, could be once again, because it's coked up but I've never taken it off to have a look because the nuts are a bit rusty.

Hi

Years since I last rode an RXS100, but that managed over 70 on the clocks and was standard.

All the best

I might be interested in this how much would you sell it for + p&p, i'm in norfolk. I think i've seen a couple of pics about of the your rxs with the exhaust. Strange that you've only got 65mph cause most people i speak to have said 70 including me on only standard stuff :-s. Cheers mate

My went 70, The Micron exhaust is really rare for the RXS.

These guys still sell a brand new one.

https://www.nikonexhausts.co.uk/twostroke.htm

Bit pricey though.

i tried a micron on mine when they sold them off in m and p for £85 ,sounded nice and tinkly on tickover but wasn't worth the effort.if you go for cc increase do tell your insurer.spend your money on good rubber and oil.all the high milage bikes i ever saw were standard, fit the front end from another bike with a disc brake as front brake crap.i gave the exhaust to my brothers mate,i'll see if he still has it and the jets i got from stan stephens.yamaha and suzuki two stroke commuters were always reliable(6 volt electrics aside)if not played with!!!!!
