It's a 2 stroke single cylinder. I presume you want it to sound like a 4 stroke four cylinder? If so, you're not very likely to achieve that as they are very different engines.

Some off 'special' sold in italy had a second exhaust ontop of the standard one which made it sound deeper apparantly. Very rare, though.

Do you have links to these exhausts on a NSR? I've never heard of those companies making them for the NSR125.

Just enjoy the bike for what it offers - a fantastic hp/cc ratio.

yeah your not going to get a deep rumble of a 4 stroke out of it.
just go on google and search " your bike- performance exhaust"

thats the best way to see what companys make exhausts for your bike.
youll probably find most big brand companys wont.
but im sure youd find a nice one.

he may not have the whole exhaust system, he migh just have got the can to fit on.
which theres no reason you couldnt do, aslong as the can fits on properly you should be able to secure it.

sorry, finding it hard to word what i mean lol.

yeah just take your can off, and the slip on will. well slip on lol.
it should slip over the exhaust pipe and i would of thought it comes with a way of fastning it.

thats what id do if your having trouble finding full exhaust systems for your bike.

That looks incredibly 'home made'. It will also likely be pretty loud for what it is - however it'll be 'more of the same'.

2 stroke engines are used in garden stuff because they make a lot of power for their size - luckily you won't make your bike sound like the slower 4 stroke you want it to, just some garden machinery with a hole in the exhaust Smile.

I'm told that the end can doesn't make that difference on a 2 stroke, so with only minor jetting changes you could probably get away with something like in the video - suspect it's not much difference to having no can at all.

I tell you what, Give me your NSR125 and you can have my MZ ETZ 301.

You clearly cannot appreciate the bike for what it is, and are clearly unable to appreciate that the exhaust design on that bike is critical to its performance. If you faff about with it and change parts of it you'll just prevent it from working properly. On a two stroke the exhaust design is so critical that replacing the entire exhaust with a normal pipe could prevent the engine from running altogether.

If it is a standard road legal exhaust then there isn't anything you can do to make it quieter. If its an aftermarket exhaust then junk it and put the original back on. Don't try to make it sound like a four stroke because it won't work and could potentially make the bike worse.

Ride it and be happy, and sod the neighbors. Doubly sod them if the exhaust is road legal as they have nothing to complain about.

If the neighbors haven't complained, then what the heck are you worried about? Sounds like you just don't want to be seen to be riding a 125 (or heard at least...). Riding a 125 is nothing to be ashamed of, especially when it is as good as an NSR.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I don't think that is true... Even the length of the 'stinger' on a two stroke is carefully calculated. I'm pretty sure that the diameter of the pipe is critical to the tuned length. If it varies from the original design too much then it effectively acts as an open pipe meaning your tuned length becomes shorter (which seems a bit counter intuitive) this could potentially take the powerband of the bike inaccessible due to the rev limiter making it a total dog to ride.

I was surprised about how critical all parts of the two stroke exhaust are, but they are.

most of these saying are true except about the can . the can has little effect on the performance , only on the noise . other thing a 125cc bike has a high-pitched sound and will never produce the sound of a 400 , so you thinking is utopic

i spent 14 months saving up for the my nsr and i love it, im not embarrassed as it keeps up with everyone and looks amazing, all i wanted was to change the sound to something less like my minimoto as that to disturbs the peace.

if your kitty is around £270 the best exhaust system is jollymoto 402CARB . this will give you an extra 3 BHP
