What channels would i go through to say i bought a ticket and stuck it to my tank.
Do you think they would let it go if i just pointed out there was nowhere for me to stick a ticket?
Has anyone got out of this kind of fine before? I DID buy a ticket |

I spoke to a traffic warden a couple of weeks ago in Northampton who was showing a new bod the ropes, and asked where the nearest bike park was. I was told there wasn't any set aside, and to just use one of the car bays. When I asked about a ticket, she replied that I didn't need one, as there's no way to keep it on the bike, "and it'll only get nicked".
Write to your local council and ask what the policy is on parking payment tickets on motorcycles (or get a friend to). If they write back stating the same as I've been told, then you can contest the fine.
Personally I would have kept the ticket with me (still with adhesive on the back, unpeeled) so that in the event of a parking ticket you've got some proof. If you do have to stick it to the bike, then take a picture of it in place, clear enough to show time and date. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I usually buy a ticket and keep it in my pocket as proof. |

Stafford is like this - all car parks are free for bikes, with signs clearly saying this.
There was a write up in MCN a few weeks ago about Staffordshire and their approach to bikers compared to other councils. Very down to earth people

They may have cctv but some councils will not give you access to it as proof of you buying a ticket. |
They can not refuse. If they are doing so, they are breaking the law. The Data protection act makes this very clear: https://www.direct.gov.uk/en/HomeAndCommunity/WhereYouLive/SaferStreets/DG_10034524

You have the right to access images of yourself that may have been recorded by a CCTV camera system. This is because the Data Protection Act of 1998 means that public bodies like local councils need to make any personal data available to you if you request it. Personal data is information that relates to an individual and is held by the public body.
You will need to make a request in writing to the owner of the CCTV system. The details of the owner are usually written on a sign attached to the camera. You will need to give them enough information to identify you, for example a specific date and time, and a description of yourself and your clothing. They may charge you a fee of up to £10 for a copy of the footage.
If you contact a public body that holds CCTV footage of you, they must give you a copy of those images within 40 days. They may send you an edited version of the CCTV footage to protect the identities of other people shown in the footage
