I want a tinted visor for my lid, but can't decide what tint (too much choice! Rolling Eyes )

So which do BCF-ers think would suit the best?

Light smoke would do the job adequately, black draws me with it's undeniable coolness, but the silver mirror is very nice too. Or maybe rainbow iridium?

https://www.visorshop.com/duchinni_d601d701d801_duchinni_visor_ws_10_visors_1.html

My old lid had an inner sun visor, so this is my first visor-decidingness thing.

Lid is plain metallic black with grey detailing, jacket black/white/silver.

Can you tell I'm bored?!

Black with a black lid, I was warned away from iridium coatings as I believe they don't accept scratches as well as others, unless your going to be crazy careful about not touching your visor.
I.e not wiping flies/rain off with a gloved hand personally I'd stick with black.
And invest in a bumbag/visorbag it's very annoying if you end up out later than expected and you can't see shit, take yours clear with you

Thumbs Up

All Iridium is a crime against taste. It looked good in the early nineties along with anodised tat and purple headlight covers, but nowadays it just looks like an anachronism. Especially SRAD GSXR's with Iridium double bubble screens. Sick

Even silver mirror is a little bit iffy these days.

Black FTW. It'll never go out of fashion.

Imagine if you will, an SRAD GSXR with an iridium rainbow screen, pink anodised bar ends, pegs, yoke nut and a sprinkling of pink anodised bolts everywhere, a purple headlight cover. The rider, an early nineties white Arai with pink and yellow fluorescent spots with an iridium visor, white Akito leathers with Pink and Yellow patches, and white Akito storm trooper boots.

Nineties man strikes again! Shocked Sick

A screen is for looking through, nothing more, nothing less.

Anything other than clear is wank IMO.

A visor is for hiding your face and looking cool. You don't look cool if you've ducked down behind your 'screen' and ride into the back of a van because you're looking through two pieces of opaque plastic.

My point is that Hams visor is black in his DP. Razz

And I dont know where you all get this crashing because ye cant see bollocks.

I have a tinted visor on my Shark, and on my ZX6 have a black screen.

I can see clear as day through both. I bloody mounted a video behind my dark screen and it video'd no problems. Probably helped actually, reduced the amount of whiting out etc on a crap camera Laughing

I do however, wear my clear visor at night. Or in rain. Genuinely feel more comfortable etc being able to see.

And a black visor is bloody well needed sometimes, IMO. I suffer from fairly bad hayfever (I have injections for it) and the sun sets mine off, or very bright lights really fuck my eyes up. A dark visor has probably saved my life a few times Laughing

Black, tart/tat factor aside, iridium visors are a nightmare to look after and are especially useless for longer summer rides.

Laughing Guess it should be black then. I'll make it Blackened, for the Blackout of the Black Hole Sun on a Black Night with the Black Star. It'll Fade to Black nicely when I Paint it Black. I'll be Back in Black like a Black Dog then!

No.

In bright sunlight having the dark visor allows you to see more easily.

Personally I only use mine in bright conditions. If it's overcast, or dark I'll put the clear one on.

With the visor you always look through it, whereas with the screen you only look through it when you're pressing on, so have a black one to me seems a little pointless.
