Newsgroup woes

Hi,

Just in a unlimited download trial period with Newsdemon (switched from Giganews). Has been fine, all hunky-dorey. But today I cannot seem to get anything to come down through Newsleecher.

All the RAR files stack up in Newsleecher but when I connect, each file turns pink akin to there being insufficient/duff data within and fails to download. It then moves onto the next file and does the same. All 50 or so RAR files whizz through in about 4 seconds and nothing has appeared in my download folder.

I have tried about 8 different files including one I downloaded successfully yesterday.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I emailed them. Turns out I had got myself 15gb in a day and a half. Embarassed

I guess that is why I have opted for unlimited. I just wasn't aware of the volumes I was doing.

I am surprised I didn't get some kind of message along those lines though - even when I logged in to my account. Neutral

I've used them in the past.... I did have a few issues with billing.... So good infact i managed to get a free year out of them Wink

If you are paying for months in advance, keep a eye out that they don't keep taking the same amount each month.

Is it any good? I was looking at joining them.

Do all newsgroups contain the same info? would the content on newsdemon be different to usenext?

I am not sure how it all works but I have had no issues with not finding what I wanted but then I do get the mainstream 'stuff'.

I was with Giganews and can tell no difference between the two. Before I started newsgroups I was led to believe that Giganews is one of the top ones but you pay for it.

The thing that impressed me most was being able to connect to an online chat with Customer Service with Newdemon.

£12 summat for unlimited SSL downloads. Can't moan at that.

They should all carry pretty much the same groups.

Unless its a free service, then don't expect to find any binary groups Wink

The main thing i like with newsdeamon, was the ability to pay via pay pal... Means they don't have access to your card details.
