I seem to have made a claim, that has brought into the equation a solicitors firm. This isn't, I think, what I want. I'm not too interested in receiving the money to fix my bike (becuase it will be maybe 500, 600 pounds ) and the months of worry, court appearences, etc, aren't worth that to me. With the (undoubted) legal fees that will follow, I'll probably be put of pocket anyway.
Is it possible to just allow him to make a claim and for this to be "on the grounds" of my third party liability (I'm only fire and theft). In other words, to "report" the accident, but not to try to claim from him?
I haven't signed anything yet, and I feel that I'm getting roped into things (personal unjiury claims etc) that I'm not really understanding?. I only phoned the insurance company recently and I have all sorts of ppl contacting me, and I don't like it, becuase I don't feel I know what's going on and I feel that somewhere there's a sting in the tail that going to hit me with huge legal fees.
Is it okay to not make a claim against him but for him to make a claim against me, but allow my third party liability to settle this - becuase I'm not fully comp, I just think it's going to cost more than it's worth pursuing a claim (for 400-600 pounds damage).
But I don't want to admit liability, becuase I'm not. I'm guessing the insurance ppl will dispute his claim against me (3pfandt) without my needing to claim against him?
Oh it's all so confusing. ____________________ no regrets, no retreat, no apology.
