16 year olds can ride a 49cc restricted to 50km/h or 31mph.

17+ year olds can ride anything up to 125cc that puts out no more than 14.6bhp.

Before anyone else says anything. No you cannot ride any bike above 125cc on a CBT. To ride a bike in the manner you are talking about you have to take your A2 license, which generally you would only take if you are above 17, but younger than 21. If you are 21 or older that you would do your full test.

So yeah, no R6 till you have done your test.

You can ride up to a 125 on a CBT.

Even if you could why would you want to ride a 14bhp R6?

Even the 33bhp rule makes me laugh as I dissapear into the distance on on my 60bhp 18 year old 250. Laughing

A2 is a full licence but with a 33bhp restriction in place for 2 years after the date you pass your test. After the 2 year restriction you can ride whatever you want with as much power as you want.

It IS a full license, but you're restricted to 33bhp on any bike for 2 whole years.

Yeah, basically you can ride any bike if it is restricted for 2 years with an A2 license, after the 2 years is up you can ride any bike you want without restriction.

I'd say do it as soon as you can afford too, cause sooner its done sooner you get to ride any bike. I went the A2 route, and rode a 250 for a while then a 500, now I can ride anything I want just can't afford anything bigger Laughing.

No. When you book it you'll be booking the bike theory test.

Yes, in a way but with more emphasis on questions regarding motorcycles rather than cars.

No but they are different. You get more bike specific questions like 'What adjustments should you do before taking a pillion passenger?'. That's not going to be on the car theory Wink
