Motrax ones feel like crap, wear out really fast and cost loads Sad

Your knee is only touching down, not pushing against the ground, so most slides will last quite a while unless your lapping a roundabout all day Smile

I quite like the Wurth ones myself Smile

Oh yeah, and the Maxpower DVD was quite good Wink Twisted Evil

such a fucking rip-off if you ask me thwy should cost 5 puond for placky one and 20 for sparkys.

Im sure if someone get hold of some plastic or a number for somewhere selling similar plastic we could make our own coz if you look at the back of the wurth one they are only held on by some staples.

right I think Im gonna do soem research into doing this

In my opinion there's only two types of slider; sparkies and non-sparkies Very Happy

I haven't really noticed any difference between makes of plastic sliders at all, and I don't know of anyone that uses the weird leather sliders Very Happy

Oh and I use Motrax sparkies at the moment.

Rolling Eyes hehe, If they can give hundreds away a week then they can't cost them much. I'd say you could make up a set of budget sliders for no more than £1 (thats from the factory, bulk, and all that).

May well be stew.

You need some old velcro to attack them to.

Personally I don't like the tear drop ones, because they seem to fall off a lot. Apart from that, I (gnerally Smile ) use them to judge how leant over I am, which most seem to do in a fairly similar manner Smile

well i better chuck in my 2 pence worth. first of all motrax should be banned from makeing sliders as they are the worst thing ive ever had on my knee. if you want a good slider which you are going to use propery get WIZ GP sliders but if yo just one of the people who think the point in getting your knee down is to see how hard you can push it on the road then you may as well just use a cabbage

and remember the whole point in getting your knee down is to use it as a guide to see how close you are to the road and your only really ment to skim it not jam it down as that will only slow you down

As you may well notice by watching MotoGP/SBK, the riders normally only touch down as their knee is going towards the ground - as soon as it touches they lift it up a little as they know they are cranked over far enough to get round the corner Smile

To make sliders...

Max Bikes wrote:

3 blocks of FIMO (soft modelling plastic, from art shops £1.25 per pack, diff colours) beat it with a rolling pin, keep folds to a minimum.

Shove in a Shepherds pie dish, push down hard to squeeze out all the air gaps. Flatten and shape back of slider with a spoon.

Then cook it in the oven at around 130c for around 40 minutes, depending on depth of slider. Then whip it out, let it cool for half an hour.

Knock the puck from the dish and superglue of staple it to some velcro from an old slider.
