Very good friend of mine has one - I'll ask her advice and see what she says.

Hers is only over a year old, cute as anything but a little terror sometimes Laughing

Strictly speaking, Hetzer is one, and he's a soppy little boy.

It's a cat. It'll do what it wants. You are expected to pander to its every whim.

Were you not made aware of this before you got one?

All cats do the above. Bengalls just do it louder.

My ickle cat bible says the following Rolling Eyes

If you get a good one it is fantastic, but I see a disproportionate number of Bengals on referral for territorial aggression, inter-cat aggression, inappropriate urination or defecation and urine spraying indoors.

I do know of someone with an adult male Bengal but not well enough to know much about the cat and breed. I was advised to get both of my (BSH) boys neutered at 6 months to try and stop the spraying behaviour setting in which seems to have worked and I don't have any issues with their toilet habits. They've only recently started going outdoors, but don't seem to go far and nearly always stay in the back garden. They have markedly different personalities and one is definitely naughtier than the other.

Not sure if that helps?

Masturbating is cheaper than two bricks and a sack, and more convenient than travelling to and from lakes.

Laughing I love how people jump in thinking I'm a cat n00b who is surprised that a Bengal is so naughty. We have a naughty Siamese and a big ginger fluffy thing plus knowledge etc, so we ain't complete idiots.

Anyway, my question was simply to do with keeping them occupied. Obviously they are a very active animal, and there is only so much that the Siamese can take of being chased around the house and pounced on.

Had the idea this morning of one of those dog (I've only seen them for dogs anyway) ball's that let odd biscuits drop out as they knock it around.

So yes I just wondered what do you do with yours, to keep them busy? As ours tends to start making himself shoulders deep in the bin or the fish tank once he's bored. Laughing

Simple answer, allow it to roam (outside). Once it's grown that is. Mine is neutered, doesn't piss, shit or spray indoors, doesn't come home injured (either he avoids fights or is just very good at them) and spends most of the nights indoors.
We also take him on trips, mainly camping, and he has full freedom.

The difference I find between him and a 'regular' cat is he comes when called, follows when invited and prefers pack behaviour over solitude (if that makes sense). He's also a superb hunter, which is cool.

If you force yours to stay indoors, AND leave him alone for extended periods of time, expect much damage. And consider it just reward for what is, in reality, cruelty.

As a kitten, give it constant attention. Take it with you in the car whenever possible, they love that shit. Considerably more bright than the average cat, as is the case with ours and reportedly so with many other owners with whom I've spoken.

Sorry! Embarassed I've just started letting my guys outside as they were driving me nuts indoors - climbing over everything and knocking all sorts flying in the process. I'm guessing that this isn't an option for you, which could make life difficult, as the book I have says they like to be outdoors! I do have one of those treat balls, but like with everything bought especially for the kittens they ignore it! I find leaving everyday stuff out for them tends to be the best bet - toilet rolls, cardboard boxes with holes cut through, various catnip toys hidden about the place (ground level). Sweet wrappers and screwed up paper seems to be quite a popular one and I sometimes hide a bit of food in that. They're not particularly bothered by the climbing frame/tower thing - only for a scratching post.

The breeder I bought mine from had her cats in outside 'aviary style' houses and they had a chance to interact with outside stuff like flies and buzzy things which is what mine just love!

I am a fairly n00bie cat owner, so probably not very well qualified to help, though I am at the same stage and doing lots of trial a error stuff!

Hamsters are quite cheap at pets at home. Buy a bunch of them and just let them loose round the house. The cat will have a field day, but this works best with laminate or wood flooring as cleaning bits of hamster out of long carpet it a real shitty job.

I love that idea of taking it for walks, combined with getting him used to cars.

Means you can take the little shit with you when you go off to work for days at a time Razz

He only wants attention so that he can smirk when he walks off. Might as well be giving you the finger.

Don't get it used to cars, make sure it has a mortal fear and dread of cars and roads in general.

If they get used to cars, they'll sit in the road and try to outstare one in a contemptuous fashion, I've seen them do it. This will not lead to a happy ending.

Would that be the finger you inserted into my arse when you were having your photo taken with me?
