Only catch is, i want it to be sporty styled and actually quite well built, also White.

I what it to be white so its half ready for paint as i want my own custom lid, the Shoei XR-1000 seems to fit the bill, any feed back? concerns with that lid? Or do you know of any alternatives?
Thanks guys.

Ive been using the XR1000's for a few years, 2 of which have ended up with the strap cut and thrown into a skip after crashes.

I like them but I think the newer model Shoeis might be worth a look. The last 2 of my XR's needed the visor mechanism adjusted as it let in a breeze at speed and although they are quieter than the AGV I had they could still be improved.

Seem to work well in an off however and are fairly light. I seem to have a good Shoei shaped head though. Oh and pinlock is effin fantastic!

XR-1000s are great, I used to wear my Mum's.

XR-1000s or Arai GPRs is it? Both excellent lids. Thumbs Up

Had an xr1000 first, thought it was fine until I got an Arai Condor, in comparison the xr was noisy as not as snug fitting etc.

+1 for the condor

If had a shark, airoh, tackachi, nitro had an AGV for a while tested schubergs (quietest lid iv ever used) but compared to the arai condor none came close.

If I didn't get my arai I would of got a schuberth purely for quietness.

Sounds like condors are teh way to go then? although they look boring. Anymore votes out there for the Arai or the Shoei XR100? Question

XR1000's are good. It's the most commonly used lid in the bike club at uni. I've got mine as a spare, mate has a his and hers. They're quite popular, but you may have to change the cheekpads mind. The non-removable skullcap is a no-no for me. A helmet at THAT pricepoint, you'd expect a fully removable lining. They're very light and aerodynamically stable, but I found that not having a snug skullcap was a bit disconcerting.

That said, people say you're either a shoei or an arai head Rolling Eyes and not surprisingly, the Corsair fit like a glove. In which case, if your budget extends, get a Viper because they're MUCH quieter than the corsair. Even the chaser is a bloody good road lid; doesn't have a fully removable lining (pretty much same in the product line as a XR1000) but I've always liked arais because their chin guards extend further down than the shoei so i feel more protected. Visor changes take something to get used to, but plenty of vids on youtube (i've got a couple myself). I'm tempted to get a Chaser for next season because I feel that i WILL go deaf with my corsair (despite using earplugs) - bearing in mind it's a race helmet, intended for 45min sprint sessions and NOT 4-6 hour rides!

I personally believe nothing comes close to arai for comfort and fit.
