I'm in the mood to add a 2nd bike to the Foxy Garage.
Now, I fancy a duke 748 as they're reasonable money and still good enough to have a fun time on.
Question is, I have my S4R on a policy using my 2 years NCB which gives a reasonable quote, but they haven't asked for proof of NCB even though I have it here.
So with that in mind, what would stop me putting that towards a new insurance for the 748
BTW my existing insurer doesn't appear to do multibike policies and I did a quick quote on Bennetts and it came back silly money.
Anyone think it's possible or would I be scuppered in the event of a claim

If they are separate policies with two different companies, as long as neither ask to see the proof until you claim it will work, just don't bin both bikes |

Just change insurance to Carole Nash or MCE. They do multibike, are generally cheaper for me than any other insurer anyway and charge £30 for each additional bike as long as its a lower insurance group than the main bike.
Personally if I were you I'd not get another Duke, it will be like having two nearly identical bikes, one with clip ons and one with bars.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

I haven't ridden a S4R, but suspect it does have a fair bit different 'character' as far as the 'feel' it gives though. The 748 does give a bit of an impression it needs to be revved, I suspect they designed the S4 to 'feel' like it doesn't need to be revved, though I bet it does .
Otherwise, what Iain said... it's naughty, but probably only be a problem for you if you had to make a claim on both policies.
After the first year of insurance, you'd probably be fine too. |
