Regular for me now - done 16 or 17 I think.

We might be donating on friday, but the last time we were there they were so busy we couldn't book an appointment!

We will see on friday, we have the afternoon off now so there might be a slot when everyone else is at school

Used to, then I got anaemic, then had kids, then hypertension.

Dunno if they want it anymore, they've stopped asking.

I used to be mesmerised watching my life force trickling into the bag. Shifty

And the biscuits were nice.

Spent too many years in Zimbabwe so they will not touch my blood.
I let quite a bit of it out myself earlier tonight when I gashed my shin on a footrest yet again Sad

I will be doing after my exams.

The next donation near me is a day before my first exam so I won't be doing it then.

Is that just when bloods drained out of you, or are you prone to doing so when seeing other people pissing blood? Or seeing needles being used? I only ask because I have a fleeting memory that your a trainee paramedic (Correct??) so naturally that would be a problem would it not?

Don't give myself, because I don't enjoy the experience of having blood taken from me, I don't faint or anything, I just really dislike it. Although my company was close to paying me near £400 for about a pint and a half of my blood once, I'd have done it then.

I don;t get why people don't want to donate their organs though? Assuming you are talking post-mortem, then I see no problem, I'll have croaked it an therefore you can do what you like with my wretched corpse, feed it to a pack of wild rabid otters for all I give a shit.

Hmm, not sure I'll go again anytime soon. I'm not in the slightest bit queasy at the sight of blood. Had to do lots of first aid on people, myself included, involving gushing blood and it doesn't bother me at all. I tried to give blood and after the 3 initial vials I was about 3/4 way through the pint, talking to the nurse and nearly passed out.

Make sure you've eaten properaly the day before you go, if you've had bugger all to eat then you will pass out very easily.

I once cut my hand and lost a very small amount of blood, but could feel myself almost passing out at one stage. At that point I didn't even know I was bleeding, I looked down and saw my beige trousers were covered in bloody, I hadn't eaten all day, that's why. I had something to eat and felt immediately fine, after stopping the bleeding obviously.

That was the strange thing, had eaten well - was asked this. Was asked if I was out on the lash the night before - wasn't. Could be any number of factors combined I guess?

I am currently up to 41 donations, unless there is a clinical reason why then you should donate it is easy. Bikers are high on the probability count to require a blood transfusion so support yourselves an do it, most employers will give you time out to do it.

50+ done here.....

What a bunch of woosies....

Started when i was in a bike club and we arranged a mass trip to give blood for the very reason, that as bikers, we have a high chance of needing some.
Sadly someone when aranging failed to note we were turning up on bikes Rolling Eyes and as it was our 1st time we were unable to give for safety reasons....
Now lucky as my employer has the blood bus come to our site Karma
