https://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s34/Torque05/1989_Cobra-250_black_360.jpg

I bought this bike about 4 years ago now, i rode it around for a year or so and since then its just been rotting in my garage.

Finally ive deicded to get it back to its former glory, it shouldnt take much, just a few fluid changes, a change of spark plugs and a new battery should see it up and running again.

At this point however im at a loss to find any useful information on the bike at all. Where i can get parts from, what parts from similar bikes would fit. etc etc. I would also like to get a new set of forks on it with a twin front disk setup and some fairings so i can take it round the track, as its a 250 and im sure it would be a laugh throwing it around Lydden hill. Well, more manageable than the Vmax i also have.

The only website ive found that actually shows a picture and gives some rough details on the machine is this one:

https://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-series/GSX250S-Cobra.shtml

But its really not what im after.

Any ideas? Karma cookies awarded! Thumbs Up

Apparanty it is a naked gsxr250 so Image those bits and it's twin disc front end would fit.

In 1989 Suzuki presented a new model, GSX250S Cobra. In short terms you can say that it was a naked version of the Suzuki racing replica GSX-R250R. It shared the same mechanics but didn't have the GSXR's fairing and the twin disc front brake and the 18-inch rear wheel. The Cobra was a fast and advanced bike. Unfortunately the GSX250 bandit was released only three months after the Cobra. The Bandit wasn't as advanced a bike but it was easier to ride and was much cheaper. The GSX250S Cobra was soon discontinued.

I reckon the best bet is to get parts imported from Japan, I guess finding soundone that speaks japanesse would help with that!

Try ebay australia. 250's are common learner bikes their due to their laws. It's a hassle but i managed to source quite a few of my ZXR250 parts for oz. Ironically, it's easier to source from ebay oz then japan!

Would've thought RGV 250 (VJ21 not wolf) forks & front wheel will go straight on that. Thumbs Up Maybe GSXR400 stuff should fit also.
