MY gf's Dad has an ex police Triumph he's looking to get rid of.
He claims it's about 1967, 68.

Unfortunately without knowing too much about what it is we don't have much to go on for valuation/comparison prices etc.

He claims it's 500cc. Twin, he said it's a Speed twin.
It has the police fairing and a square recess in the top of the tank he states that holds something like a police phone (which he doesn't have).

Mechanically it seems sound, nothing's seized, turns over fine. He had it running last 9 years ago.

Cosmetically it's good, it will need a repaint and rechrome as it's become patchey but it's 'ok'.

I'd like to get a picture up but my camera's stopped working.
I found some pictures that seem similar to the bike for reference.

Any information you could advise of or any tips on how to find further information about it. Possibly even a ballpark figure these kind of things would go for?

Many thanks

https://www.tomcc.org/

is probably the best place to check
if it's in good nick and will run (change all the oils first!) i'd hazard at around the £3K mark

EDIT: though if you can buy it off him cheaper and ride it yourself, these old bikes are a real experience!

I probably have more monetary value on my Tesco clubcard than I hold in my bank. That unfortunately won't be an option. Crying or Very sad

Thanks for the info so far.

I think it might of been P reg or D. Memory failing.must.stop.drinking.

My dad picked up similar year Triumph Trophy it was running but needed work on the carb. For £2500. I would say if the bike is running it should be worth at least 2k

Thanks for the further replies.
It's good you mentioned that as I had forgot.

It does have some good history and also a document stating when it was comissioned and that it was number 3 in a group of bikes that were used by the police as well as some other bits.

See if I can find some more details.
It's probably going to end up on ebay at some stage this week by the looks of it.

Kind regards
