Right, I've just bought a 600watt amp with a SPL-X 12inch subwoofer.

My question is too all the people who have subs in their cars now...

How important is it to route your power and RCA cables on opersite sides of the car?

Does it really make a big difference?
Just its gonna make this installation take so long!

Thanks in advance
Cal.

My brother routed them down the same side and he had all dodgy crackly hissy noises at low volume. Its not that much more work, I would just do it. You should be quicker with the other side anyway after getting to know doing one side.

Yeah thats the ballache, I left that bit to my Dad haha Laughing

I know what you mean the extra work but like with mine, first side I took a while finding where little stupid screws were stopping panels coming out the way, and the other side was less than half the time.

It'll be worth it in the end, hope it goes alright.

Very Happy

There should be a nice rubber grommet blocking something like the A/C holes (if you don't have it) or some other rubber grommet in the passenger side.

Tha's because all power leads should go down the same side as the cars loom and the RCA cable should be on the opposite side otherwise you will get interference from the power cables.

OP . .

As for the battery connection drill a hole and put a grommet in it, don't forget the fuse needs to be as close to the battery as possible.

Always run the power cable and RCA leads down seperate sides on the car, and there is almost always a gromet you can use through the bulk head.

A wee tip though, if your fuel lines run inside the car, try to keep the power cable out of the way, just in case Wink

The car is a 2005 model Seat Ibiza.

I have read-up on various forums on how to do it. There should be a plastic gromet that I can remove, drill a hole through and then replace. The cable should fit through fine.

I will do what you's have said, run them on oppersite sides. Wink

Davie: I believe the grommet is on the passenger side of the car... Just happens the fuel lines run along the drivers side. Very Happy
