I did search to see if they had been mentioned before but nothing came up. I have been looking at bikes on ebay and found a dt125 up near me. But i havent got the money at the minute which is annoying as the dt is perfect. Anyway whilst browsing ebay i came across these i like the look of them etc etc but what are peoples opinions i cant seem to find a review on the internet. Are these just another example of chinese crap. ??

Cheers

Carl.

Personally I'd say save a bit more and get a Japanese bike Thumbs Up

Well by the 22nd of november i will have the money for a dt. But the dt on ebay near me will be gone by then. So i'm looking at other options and thought i might aswell get a chinese bike to set the bar.

I wouldn't do it mate, whether they are good or bad is irrelevant, the fact is that as it's a 125 you ain't going to keep it for long and the depreciation will be horrific. Spend £1000 on a new chinese bike and it will be worth a few hundred quid when you sell it in 6 months; spend £1000 on an older DT125 and get a decent deal and it will be worth...oh, maybe £1000 when you sell it 6 months later. It'll end up costing you less for a better bike so it's a no brainer Wink

Yeah had a conversation with one of the lads in the pub tonight about the dt. He was saying if i bought one now it would hold its value due to it being a two stroke. I just quite fancy something different i like the dt's and will most likely end up with one i just want to see the other options. But thanks for the input tommy much appreciated as usual. Thumbs Up Karma

No probs, DTs are great but watch you don't get it nicked, they are very popular with thieves.

Maybe he's got a point, as they don't make many (any?) 2 strokes anymore Thinking

I wasn't referring to that when I said they don't depreciate much though, I just meant that 125s, and DTs in particular are so popular that if you don't buy a new one they really hold their value. I was going to get one as a toy but they cost a fecking fortune for what they are Shocked

i have owned a pulse adrenaline 125 for a year now and it has been brilliant. the only problem i had with it was the tyres that come with it (plastic i swear) i have replaced them for continentals and the handling is brilliant. i would advise anybody to buy one of these.

i would strongly advise not to buy 2stroke aswell as the engine rebuilds will set you back a fair bit and it gets a bit annoying doing it yourself. i have been there and done it.

my pulse adrenaline has been ragged for 20,000 miles now and i have only done 1 basic service on it at 10,000 miles and it is still going strong.

my verdict

excellent value for money Cool

Above 50cc there's only the Aprilia RS125 and the Derbi GPR125 which is soon to become a 4 stroke. It'll be sad when the RS125 becomes a 4 stroke, I will probably cry a little Crying or Very sad

DT125s have pretty long intervals before needing rebuilds.

I own a Sinnis Apache (Pulse Adrenalin under a different name) got it for £700 with 16000km on the clock and the only problem ive had is a dodgy circuit that keeps on blowing my taillight bulb. My dad has been riding bikes for 40 yr and he says its the most fun out of all the bikes he's had. I cant compare cos its my first bike however if you get one get it secondhand as the new price is a rip off (£1600 odd)

admittadley i had the same problem with the rear light but that was because i went green laning and caught the tail end on a tree. it pulled 1 of the wires so i took the fitting apart and resolderd the wire and its been fine since. check for any damages on yours mate and im sure you will find the cause

I have one of these sitting alongside my bandit, and I have to say that it's actually OK. Not staggeringly fast, but it goes well enough, and gets (like all 125 singles) phenomenal mpg.
It tended to attract a fair bit of attention, mainly because I stripped off all of those horrible, horrible stickers. God, but they looked shite.
It makes for an alright little runabout. Don't expect miracles out of it, though.
Also, if you're thinking of getting it and tuning it, be warned: the 08 model is significantly different from the previous years. I tried swapping a few parts out, but most of the electrical stuff had different plugs and/or completely different wiring arrangements.

There is a difference between "fun" and "fast".

Plus he is 65 now and probably cant remember what it was like jumping on a Norton 500 at 16 yrs old

Eh, what 2 stroke were you riding that had expensive rebuilds that were a pain to do yourself Confused. Ok, doing cranks etc is a bit of hassle, but a top end rebuild every 10,000 miles is a lot less hassle than doing the valves on a lot of four strokes.

While you seem to have had a good experience with this bike, it's still very bad odds when you compare to those that haven't (even one in ten people having a bad experience would be pretty terrible to my mind).
