Hi,

I have a full bike license, held for over 2 years, so I think that has a limit of 12 points on it.
Now I have a car license, held for only 18 months, so I think that has a limit of 6 points on it (2 year probation?).

If I were to be caught speeding twice in the car, would I loose everything (car and bike license) or just the car license?

Iv recently moved to Nottingham and the place is crawling with cameras, Unfortunately I drove past a camera van (back door open camera sticking out the back) accelerating from about 20 to 37 before realising what it was, there were 2 damn cyclists in the road and I accelerated to overtake and clear out of their way and generally escape the hazard.

I looked back in my rear view and my heart sank, I think it was too late and he probably caught me.

I'm now paranoid that I may have been done before in the last 3 weeks and have completely blown my license. Nottingham council use hundreds of different types and different facing cameras.

I expect that I'll be fined and given points for yesterdays mistake, and if I was caught at another time, will I lose my motorbike license as well? I've only just bought another bike!

Does anyone know what would happen if I was caught speeding in the car twice?

Thanks

The probabationary period where you can only get 6 points is on your LICENCE not your ENTITLEMENTS.

You've had your licence over 2 years so you are outwith that probationary period, regardless of what additional entitlements you've added to it.

You only have one licence, there is no such thing as 'a car licence' and 'a bike licence'.

Hi

The 12 point limit applies to all you licence groups after 2 years after getting your first full licence.

So as you have had a bike full licence for over 2 years you have 12 points to play with.

All the best

Keith
