diffrent Exhaust

Hello,

I have been looking into getting a exhaust for my 2003 nsr and have found a couple such as arrow etc...but they look small in the pictures when I expected them to be slightly bigger.

Are you able to fit a bigger exhaust (cbr600 etc) and fit it onto your nsr? as I am sick of people thinking that its a big bike till you turn it on and you get the noise of a 125 (and I know thats because its a 125).

I am not going to get a bigger bike as I have just bought this just incase people say get a bigger bike.

lol it's a 2-stroke they all sound like that. A cbr exhaust won't fit or work in this case but you can buy a fake thing that goes round your existing exuast to make it *look* bigger. But they look gay.

Dont try and pretend it's something it isnt. 2 strokes have weenie exhausts and sound like chainsaws - there's nowt you can do about that so you might as well just save your money.

not alot u can do m8, i had a fresco (now called "big one") silencer for the dt and that actually sounded pritt good for a 2 smoke but still u ant going to get it to sound like a 600 4 stroke.

2 strokes rock and i think sound great espically if its high up the revs Cool

Same but louder, my nsr used to scream with the arrow exhaust fitted.

They dont sound a lot different at all. Its even more tinny and a lot louder when you hit the powerband but it wont make it sound any better. As for performance, well the race can wont be restricted but wont improve performance massivley, even if you get it jetted.

It depends wether you like two strokes, personally i do. I own one. I will have an after market exhaust on my RS50 when I get it back, If I get it back! I think they sound good, I like the tinnyness, especially when it hits the powerband. My poor little RS doesn't have a powerband but it feels like it. As I've mentioned it does anyone actually know wether it's a powerband. The revs get upto about 7-7.5k and then it just shoots upto about 10k. I've been told that isn't a powerband. I just say it is! Razz

If anyone can answer that I would be grateful.
As for the NSR exhaust, standard sounds pathetic, with after market exhaust sounds nice (for 2 stroke lovers).

yep, it saves you money and has just about the same affect.

No mater what you do, you will never get the deep noise your after mate - I went through the same thing untill I got my CBR 6 Very Happy

A 'Powerband' is the area, or 'band', in the rev range where the engine makes its 'power'. So yeah, your bike does have a 'Powerband'.
